Bridge Foundation began humanitarian assistance in China in response to the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the western China city of Chengdu in 2008. The earthquake killed more than 10,000 people and was recognized as one of the worst natural disasters to strike China in three decades. Bridge Foundation's support focused on assisting the Chengdu Children's Hospital.
