Bridge Foundation responded to a rash of tornadoes that ravaged the Midwest and Southern U.S., devastating 10 states. More than 38 people were killed. In Kentucky alone, an EF3* tornado packing top sustained winds of 136 mph killed 19 people according to the National Weather Service. (The Enhanced Fujita scale rates tornadoes from EF0 to EF5 based on damage. EF3 is the third strongest category on the scale with estimated winds of 136 to 165 mph.)
Bridge Foundation delivered a tractor-trailer load of water consisting of 37,440, half- liter bottles to Morehead, Kentucky. Our water donation was split between the city of West Liberty — the hardest hit area — and towns in Menifee and Martin Counties.
Bridge Foundation has also worked with Christian Appalachia project in providing bottled water and educational supplies since 2007.
