The ISABS mission is to contribute the advancement of the biological sciences and applications of related techniques and technologies by promoting, improving and extending all aspects of research; technological developments and education activities in the fields of applied biological sciences and related areas and exchanging the cutting-edge scientific contents between the scientists.
Bridge Foundation founders, Andrew Hannah and Stephen Skakel helped found the first DNA laboratory – 20 years ago this week -- at the Clinical Hospital Split in order to identify remains in mass graves from the Balkan war.
The 8th ISABS Conference in Forensic, Anthropologic and Medical Genetics and Mayo Clinic Lectures in Translational Medicine promote, enhance and extend research, development and education in molecular biology as applied to clinical and molecular medicine, focusing on, but not limited to, molecular genetics, genomics, proteomics, forensic and anthropological genetics, and biotechnology.

The conference this year will far surpass previous gatherings with three Nobel Laureates in attendance, leading an unprecedented field of scientific talent from around the world.
"What started as a humble beginning, has evolved into a world-class conference, bringing together the top minds in their respective fields," said Stephen Skakel, Managing Director of the Bridge Foundation. "The growth and success realized today is primarily due to the tireless efforts of Dr Dragan Primorac, Dr. Moses Schanfield and Dr. Vuk-Pavlovic, who selflessly contributed their time and vast knowledge to make this global conference a necessary and important event for medical professionals in this critically important area."
